human rights in bangladesh

The violation of human rights is abnormally frequent in Bangladesh in the last couple months. Political unrest is prime factor behind this worst situation. Opposition parties are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina  and they are  also demanding the parliamentary election should be held under a caretaker government, which has been going on for the last two decades , but the Prime Minister is adamant to resign . Rather the government is going to hold the parliamentary election on 5th January 2014, where all other opposition parties are going to avoid the election. All opposition parties have been holding " roads and highways blockade" for more than 4 weeks. During  these  blockade , many innocent , ordinary people have been killed by bombs or arson ; thousands of vehicle have been burnt down to ashes. Everyday, thousands of people are being harassed or physically assaulted by politically activist .Neither government , nor opposition parties care about human rights. The plight of human rights is very poor in Bangladesh at this moment right now.

Thousands of garments workers were on duty of five garments companies on different levels of this building . This monster tragedy has claimed the lives of more than one thousand workers. Most of them garments workers are extremely poor . It is a black day in the history of Bangladesh. But this sort accident is not new , couple of months ago another garments fire incident claimed more than one hundred lives. Most unfortunate aspect of this sort of accident in Bangladesh is no organization even government is not working properly to stop this sort of devastating brutal incident . These are not natural disaster , they are man -made incident , lack of humanity , absence of OH&S measures and extreme greed of maximizing profits are main causes behind this sort brutal and horrific incidents.
